Charts
Chart Window
Open or hide the chart window from the View tab by toggling Geostat Chart.

In the chart window, right-click to open the context menu for chart creation, editing, operations, export, and display tools.
Basic Interactions
- Ctrl + double-click on a chart to switch between normal view and full-screen view.
- While in full-screen view, use Ctrl + Right Arrow or Ctrl + Left Arrow to move to the next or previous chart.
- Double-click a chart element to open a popup with details about the selected point.
- Ctrl + C copies the chart under the cursor to the clipboard.
- Ctrl + click lets you select multiple charts for shared property updates.
- Esc clears the current chart selection.
Chart Sets
You can organize charts into chart sets.
- A chart set can contain as many charts as needed.
- Use Set From List… in the chart context menu to switch to another chart set.
- The active chart set is the one currently displayed in the chart window.
Create Charts
Right-click in the chart window and use Add to create charts.
Available chart types
- Histogram: Distribution of one or more variables.
- Scattergram: Correlation between X and Y values.
- Frequency: Frequency curves for selected variables.
- BoxPlot: Quartiles, spread, and outliers.
- QQ Plot: Distribution comparison against reference quantiles.
- Stats Report: Statistical table view.
After choosing a chart type, select the source data and variables (for example from intervals, composites, block models, or tables).
Operations
Operations automatically generate one or multiple specialized charts.
BM Validation
Purpose
- Validate estimated block model values against composites and assays.
- Review both distribution behavior and spatial consistency in one run.

BM Compare
Purpose
- Compare multiple block models side by side (minimum 2, up to 5).
- Evaluate differences between estimation runs, domains, or model versions.

- Compare models and identify which model best fits project expectations.
Litho Chart
Purpose
- Analyze how assay values are distributed across lithology classes.

- Frequency chart by lithology

Typical use case
- Check which lithologies host the highest grades or strongest population contrast.
QAQC
Purpose
- Build a complete QAQC chart package from QAQC tables.
- Support routine validation of duplicates, blanks, and standards.

Generates
- Duplicate charts (scattergram and QQ plot)
- Blank control charts
- Standard control charts
- Standard Z-score chart
- Standard tramline chart
- Summary reports (duplicate, blank, standard)
Main settings
- Variable to evaluate
- Chart families to include (Duplicate, Blank, Standard, Standard Z Score, Standard Tram Line)
- Detection limit (for blank workflows)
- Optional date filter (start/end date)
- Display options (sample number, date, Z-score coloring)
- Selections of duplicate types, blank names, standard names, and Z-score standard list
- Option to create charts in a new chart set or append to current set
Typical use case
- Review QAQC for data consistency and validation.
QAQC tables should be imported before generating charts. Tables needed for QAQC:

- Duplicate: include sample number, sample duplicate reference number, duplicate assays
- Blank: Blank sample number, blank assays
- Blank Nominal: Blank expected value (Usually 0)
- Standard: Standard sample number, standard assays
- Standard Nominal: Sample number, Standard assays expected value
- Standard Error: Sample Number,Standard assays error value
Vario Pairs
Purpose
- Inspect raw variogram pair behavior for a selected direction and variable.
- Diagnose pair quality before or during variography.

Generates
- Variogram-pairs chart
- Scattergram
- QQ plot
- Statistical report
Main settings
- Variogram direction
- Variable
- Per-chart toggles (enable/disable each output)
Typical use case
- Detect outlier pair behavior that can affect directional variogram interpretation.
You can remove specific pairs from the chart popup. This action is permanent for the selected pair data.
4D Pit Profit
Purpose
- Compare pit profitability scenarios across one or more pit block models.

Generates
- Profit-by-bench chart
- Profit-by-skin chart (for compatible 4D pit models)
- Yield-by-skin chart (for compatible 4D pit models)
Main settings
- Block model selection (must support pit-profit workflow)
- Start annual rate

Typical use case
- Evaluate production-rate sensitivity on pit value and extraction sequence performance.
Capping Expert
Purpose
- Support capping-value selection using several complementary methods.

- Optional decile-analysis charts
Main settings

Contact Analysis
Purpose
- Evaluate grade behavior near lithological contacts.
- Compare distributions and trends around selected contact relationships.

KNA Analysis
Purpose
- Compare estimation sensitivity across different neighborhood sizes.
Generates
- Line chart showing average estimated values versus maximum composites per run
Main settings
- Block model
- Variables to analyze
- List of run definitions (max composites per run)
Typical use case
- Select a practical neighborhood size before final block model estimation.
Edit and Manage Charts
From the Edit submenu in the chart context menu:
- Remove Chart: Deletes the selected chart from the current chart set.
- Color by variable…: Applies consistent colors for variables across charts in the current set.
- Copy to clipboard: Copies the selected chart image.
- Create Copy: Duplicates the selected chart in the current set.
- Select…: Starts free-form selection mode on scattergrams for tagging selected data points. Left-click to place polygon points, Enter to complete selection, and Esc to cancel.
- Serie…: Replaces or updates data series for the selected chart.
Chart Properties
Open Properties… from the chart context menu.
You can modify:
- series settings (display, captions, and visual style)
- general settings (title, axis, grid, legend, log settings, and related options)
For multiple selected charts, shared general properties can be updated together.
Use Modify All Fonts… to apply font settings to all charts in the current window.
Export
Use Export To Excel from the context menu:
- Selected: exports only the selected chart.
- All: exports every chart currently displayed.
The export includes both chart data and chart output.
Refresh
Use Refresh to reload chart data from source and recreate chart content.
If source data changed for operation-generated charts, you may need to rerun the operation so intermediate calculation data is regenerated.
Saving
Charts and chart sets are saved with the Genesis project during normal project save.
Notes
- Some operations may be unavailable depending on application level or license.
- Free-form selection is intended for scattergram workflows.
