Reports

The Report menu provides several ways to review, summarize, and compare block model results. These tools work on the block models currently selected in the block model set.

Available report commands

• Ressource Report… Generates a resource summary for one or more selected block models, with optional cut-offs, sorting, classification display, and chart output.
• Striping Ratio… Calculates the waste-to-ore volume ratio for the selected block models.
• Estimation Report… Produces a report of estimation settings for common estimable variables in the selected block models.
• Volume Report… Compares the volume of each selected block model with its associated envelope.

Ressource Report…

The resource report is the main tool for reviewing resources in a block model. It can be generated for one block model or for several selected block models at the same time, as long as they are compatible.

When you open the command, the settings are organized into two pages:

• General Settings
• CutOff

After confirming the settings, you can save the report in one of these formats:

• Excel workbook (.xlsx)
• Excel workbook (.xls)
• HTML (.html)
• Text (.txt)
• CSV (.csv)

After the report is created, the software can open it immediately for review.

General Settings

Use the General Settings page to define what the report contains and how it is organized.

Selected variables

First, select the variables you want to include in the report. These are the values that will be summarized together with the calculated Volume and Tons columns.

Filtering Variable

Use Filtering Variable to restrict the blocks included in the report.

• The filter is based on a formula.
• The formula must return a true or false result.
• Blocks that return true are included in the report.
• Blocks that return false are excluded.

Percent Variable

Use Percent Variable when volume and tonnage must be weighted by a fraction.

• This can be an existing fraction field.
• It can also be a calculated formula.
• If no percent variable is needed, leave it unset.

Density Variable

Use Density Variable to define which density is used for tonnage calculations.

• This can be an existing variable.
• It can also be a calculated formula.
• If the selected density contains values less than or equal to zero, the software displays a warning before generating the report because tonnage results may be incorrect.

Order of sorting

Use the sorting options to organize the report output.

The report supports up to three sort levels:

1. Block Model or no first-level grouping
2. A secondary grouping such as Classification, Bench, or another available variable
3. A third grouping, depending on the previous sort selection

Typical report layouts include:

• report by classification
• report by bench
• report by class then bench
• report by bench then class
• total report without block model grouping

One Table

If One Table is selected, the report is exported as a single consolidated table.

If it is not selected, the report is generated in the standard report style, with sections and totals separated in a more traditional layout.

Show Grade Tonnage chart by cut off

If Show Grade Tonnage chart by cut off is selected, the software adds a chart sheet to the output workbook.

• This option is available only for .xlsx output.
• It is useful when several active cut-offs are defined.
• The chart is created for selected report variables and cut-offs.
• The Total line is required when this chart option is used.

Classification Display

Use Classification Display to control which classification totals appear in the report.

Available lines include:

• 0 Tonnages Class
• Indicated + Measured
• Unclassified
• Indicated
• Inferred
• Measured
• Total

These options are relevant when the report is sorted by classification.

CutOff

The CutOff page allows you to add one or many cut-offs.

Cut-offs are optional. You can generate a report without any cut-off, or you can add as many cut-offs as needed.

For each cut-off, you can define:

• the variable or valid formula used for the cut-off
• the cut-off value
• whether the cut-off is active

Each active cut-off adds the corresponding grade and tonnage results to the report.

When the chart option is enabled, a chart sheet is created only when enough cut-off values are available to plot the selected results.

Striping Ratio…

The striping ratio tool calculates a waste-to-ore volume ratio for the selected block models.

When using this command, a dialog opens with the following options.

Volume source

You can choose how waste volume is defined:

• Use Pit Bm: uses a generated pit block model
• Use Pit Surface: uses a pit surface together with a topographic surface
• Use Envelope: uses a selected envelope volume
• No Envelope: calculates waste only from blocks below the cut-off

Variable

Variable is the value used to determine what is considered ore.

Percent

Percent is optional. Use it when ore volume must be weighted by a fraction variable.

CutOff

CutOff defines the threshold between ore and waste.

• Everything equal to or below the cut-off is considered waste.
• The default value is 0.
• Multiple cut-offs can be entered in the dialog.

The resulting report lists the selected block model, the envelope or volume source used, each cut-off, and the calculated ratio.

Estimation Report…

The estimation report summarizes estimation settings for the selected block models.

When you start this command:

1. The software finds the variables that are estimable in all selected block models.
2. You choose which of those variables to include.
3. You choose the output type:
   • Excel Report
   • HTML Report

The report can include, depending on the estimation method:

• estimation method used
• composites set and composite variable
• screening envelope
• limiting envelope
• discretization values
• search parameters for each pass
• variogram parameters for kriging methods

This report is especially useful for reviewing and comparing estimation setup across several compatible block models.

Volume Report…

The volume report compares each selected block model with its associated envelope.

The report shows:

• Block Model
• Envelope
• Envelope Volume
• Block Model Volume
• Difference (%)

For this report to work, each selected block model must have an associated envelope through the same tag. If one or more selected block models do not have a matching tagged envelope, the report stops and lists the unmatched block models.

This report is useful for quickly checking whether the modeled volume matches the intended envelope volume.
