How Licensing Works for Users

  1. Start GENESIS.
  2. Choose your license source when requested.
  3. GENESIS validates your access and applies the allowed software level.
  4. If validation succeeds, you can continue to your workflow.

License Behavior by Option

Dongle License

  • Use a valid USB dongle connected to the computer.
  • Access is granted while the dongle is detected and valid.
  • If the dongle is disconnected, access may be interrupted.
  • Legacy and deprecated, not offered for new users.

Temporary Key License

  • Enter or provide a temporary key.
  • Internet access is required
  • This option is suitable for controlled, time-limited access.

Token License

  • Token licensing validates online and stores a local token for temporary offline use.
  • Offline operation is time-limited to 3 months and must be refreshed by reconnecting online.
  • If token validation fails, reconnect to the internet and validate again.

Troubleshooting

  • No license detected: Verify dongle connection or key entry.
  • License expired: Contact SGS to renew or update maintenance.
  • Token/offline access failed: Reconnect to internet and refresh your token.
  • Still blocked: Contact ca@geostat.com with your company name and license number.
